Episode 1 – Let Us Introduce Ourselves

What is this episode about?

In this episode, the three hosts of this show explains who they are and why they started a podcast. It’s not often that female podcasters get notice, but hopefully more of us get out there and start recording!

What happened in this Episode?

The three hosts, Liz, Sam, and Mary first met online via Tumblr during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. After some conversations, they found out they had quite a bit in common with each other. Things quickly progressed to the point where they decided that podcasting would be a fun thing to do together. The thing that finally convinced us to do this show was Discord.

The three hosts are members of a Discord server. Mary and Liz happened to be using the voice chat feature in the Discord server. They wound up having a conversation with a few other members listening mostly and occasionally chiming in. A member of the group made a passing comment about how the conversation with Mary and Liz doing most of the talking sounded a lot like something from a podcast.

We also talk about how the pandemic affected us. Our relative isolation, caused by pandemic lockdowns, was yet another factor in how the podcast got started in the first place. The episode ends with a discussion of the initial MCU Disney Plus shows, WandaVision, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. There’s other TV and films thrown in as well into the conversation as it meanders into discussing filming locations. While not all of our episodes sound as meandering, some of the earlier episodes do tend to sound like that.
